The Gaskin Family
We are the Gaskins. Wes and I will celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary in June. We talked about adoption before were even married. After our girls were born, my doctor advised me not to have any more children. When our youngest daughter was 3, I had to have a total hysterectomy.
A couple years later we began our adoption journey with Bethany Christian Services. Our family chose adoption to grow our family, and to honor a birth mother’s loving choice of life. We completed our training and home study with them in August 2013. In May 2014, we met with an attorney in Mobile. In August 2014, we got the call that we had been matched with a birth mom due in 6 weeks. William Kamp was born September 2014.
In August 2015, our Birthmom called us with news that she was expecting again. She asked us if we would raise the baby with its brother. We said yes. The Lord had been preparing our hearts for this call. We renewed our home study and got ready for our new bundle. In April 2016, Wesley Knox was born. We count it an honor and privilege to raise these treasures in our home. My favorite adoption quote:
