The Tamor Family

We have grown our family through adoption two years ago. God laid adoption on our hearts and we began our adoption process with a Russian adoption. We were planning on adopting a little boy named Forrest with Down syndrome. After months of praying for Forrest and preparing to… travel to Russia, the doors became closed as Russian adoptions shut down. We continued to pray for Forrest and at the same time listed our names with the National Down Syndrome Adoption Network. We were approved to adopt from Russia when the doors opened back up and domestically. God showed us his plan for our family as we were chosen to adopt a baby to be born later that year. When we first introduced ourselves to the birth mother she told us she knew we would name the child, but she had been calling him Forrest. We were amazed at God’s faithfulness to add a baby to our family. As we discussed the possibility of adding to our family again, God showed us how we were chosen again to bring this little girl to be a part of our family. We have prayed and prepared and depended on God after the first time we read her file. It took months of prayers and discussion and then we told God if this little girl was meant for our family then we would be chosen to adopt her. We received the call from our adoption agency a week later that they chose our family to be a part of hers. We have been amazed at the blessings that God has given us. We are so excited about our new daughter that God has placed on our hearts. We can’t wait for the day that we will be able to hold her in our arms and bring her home to be a part of our forever family.

"God has shown our family that we are meant to pray for children and advocate for those that do not have families, and to educate our church and community about adoption and God’s love for us as we are adopted by him."
